I recently spent three nights in Haiti and during that stay I got to spend one night at the Wahoo Bay Beach Resort. It took around a hour to drive there from Port-au-Prince. The resort features, 28 rooms, a tennis court, basketball court, an amazing pool, a restaurant, and beach access. I stayed in a superior room with two queen beds. The hotel usual goes for under $150 a night with breakfast and wifi included. At the spa you can get a one hour Swedish massage for $55.
What I like the most about the hotel is the pool and beach area. Both are beautiful and well maintained. Customer service was great as well. The hotel offers picturesque views and quiet and calm vibe for the most part. At certain times they do have events with DJ’s. This is definitely a place you can bring your love interest and our family to. I did think the shower pressure was a bit weak and some parts of the hotel could use some updating like the basketball and tennis courts.
The first sign you see when you pull into the resort.
I got there too early for the 2 pm check in so I decided to eat by the pool. There is a bar by the pool and you can order food from the restaurant to be sent to the pool area. The menu includes, chicken wings, shrimp cocktail, soups, salads, pasta, pizza and more. They serve Haitian dishes like Tassot and Poisson Gros-Sel. I went with the spaghetti and hot dogs. So I started my stay with a tasty meal and remarkable view.
I walked around and got a quick view of the beach area.
Finally it was time to check into my room. The resort uses non electronic keys.
The bathrooms are very simple. The water pressure is not the best and the bathroom amenities are basic.
The TV is a good size and the AC in the room is strong.
The room I was in had a glass door that led to the pool area.
Don’t be surprised when you see wild bunnies running around the resort.
The beach area is nice, it features a ocean water trampoline, beach volleyball, small boats, jet skis, chairs and umbrellas.
Below you can see pictures of the, pool table, tennis court and basketball court.
